Medieval Horses - The Stott

*Direct Download

A cheap work or plough horse
Used by farmers and commoners who were lucky enough to afford a horse
Because it was considered such a uncomplimentary type of horse it hasn’t been depicted all that much and there is very little know about it these days
It was presumably a horse with a short thick neck, a broad well build front for pulling and short strong legs
It might be the ancestor of modern day draft horses like the Belgian Draft
